Summer Connections:
As summer travel picks up and Community Groups pause, we’re looking for volunteers to host “Summer Connection” events to help keep our church community stay connected throughout the summer. These can be one-time or recurring gatherings, and you’re welcome to host with friends or your Community Group. Events will run from June through August, with ideas like picnics, hikes, game nights, movie nights, worship nights, or book clubs—the possibilities are wide open. If you have an idea, we’d love to hear it. Interested in hosting? Sign up here to host!

Check out the different Summer Connection events here: Summer Connections.  Each event will have its own sign-up form, so be sure to sign up there to receive more information.

Sunday School Class:
Join us for a 4-week Sunday School Class on the overall storyline of the bible! We’re excited to offer a Sunday School class taught by Pastor Addison that will help you better understand the central narrative of Scripture. The class will help you better understand how even confusing and strange stories, especially in the OT, relate to the NT and to our modern lives. The class will follow the general content of the book, God’s Big Picture by Vaughn Roberts. Books will be available for those who would like to read along, but reading the book is optional.

We will meet Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 AM in Conference Room B on July 19, July 26, August 2 and August 9. If you can’t make all four classes, don’t worry - you may miss some important details, but we will be quickly reviewing each class to catch up! All you need to bring is a Bible and a pen.

Please
RSVP if you are interested so we can plan for how many to expect. We look forward to learning together and deepening our understanding of God’s Word!

Bethesda Project:
We’re inviting volunteers to join us in preparing and serving a meal and sharing fellowship with the men at My Brother’s House, the safe haven for men with Bethesda Project’s. We typically meet on the last Saturday of each month – this month we will meet on Saturday, July 25th, from 11:30 AM to 2 PM. Please sign up here. If you can’t come this time but want to in the future, add your name to the waitlist section. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jun, Sue, Joel or Jay at Bethesda@renewalcc.org

Renewal Volleyball:
Looking to pick up a new sport or hobby? Join us for a fun afternoon of volleyball with our neighbors in the Philadelphia community. All skill levels, especially beginners, are welcome. Please sign up here. If you have any questions, please contact Simon, Soobin, Dylan or Seong Ah at volleyball@renewalcc.org.

Moms Group:
Renewal CC Moms Group is a safe space for moms to connect, learn, and grow together through prayer and biblical wisdom. We seek to strengthen our walk with God and nurture our families with Christ-centered love, grace, and purpose. We will be meeting every 3rd Saturday of the month, from 8-9:30 pm at the Franks home in Olde Kensington. Our next gathering is Saturday, August 15th. We’ll continue our study of “The Gospel-Centered Parent.” Please RSVP here.

PRAY WITH US

Renewal Volleyball Ministry

  • Pray for belonging and community. Praise God for how the ministry has grown into a welcoming space and pray that everyone who comes out on Sundays would feel genuinely seen, known, and connected.
  • Pray for the Gospel to be shared through relationships. Pray that the friendships built on the court would open doors to deeper conversations, and that the ministry would keep pointing people toward Christ and Renewal’s wider community.
  • Pray for leaders and volunteers. Pray for those who organize and serve each week, that God would sustain their energy and joy, keep players safe and healthy, and raise up new volunteers to share the load.

Serve With Us

We are looking for more people to join our Welcoming Team! Our desire is to cultivate a warm and an inviting atmosphere, to make each person feel seen as they walk in through the doors. Please join us in sharing Christ’s love in this way and to welcome people into our church family. Please email us at renewalccwelcomingcommittee@gmail.com and/or reach out to David Lim, if you are interested or if you have any questions!

We are looking to recruit more members! If you have a heart for global missions and would like to be a part of supporting and encouraging the missionaries of Renewal, this could be a great fit for you! We are looking for people to join our support groups for our missionaries, to help plan for our annual Missions Conference in November, and to join us for our monthly Missionary Prayer Breakfast. Please email missions@renewalcc.org for more information!

If you’re interested in serving on our praise ministry team, including sound, please email praise@renewalcc.org for more information or speak to us after service!

We are in need of volunteers for the multimedia team. If you’re interested, please email mimiko@renewalcc.org.

Renewal has been partnering with Bethesda My Brothers House, a nonprofit organization that provides a Safe Haven, emergency shelter, housing, and support services to the homeless community. We are currently seeking volunteers to serve lunch and share a meal alongside the residents at My Brother’s House. This opportunity takes place monthly, typically on the last Saturday of each month, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. If you have any questions, please reach out to Joel Choe, Jay Garcia, Jun Shin, or Sue Park at Bethesda@renewalcc.org. Sign up here!

Coffee Hour

Everyone is invited to come to the Crane Center one hour early at 9:30am to enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, which will be made available outside the gym. Our hope is that this will provide a comfortable, inviting, and informal atmosphere for everyone to not only drink coffee but also interact with one another and form new friendships outside of the Community Group context. You are encouraged, but not required, to bring your own thermos to minimize the number of paper cups that need to be used.

Diaconate Care

If you have any felt needs (physical or spiritual), please contact the Renewal Diaconate (care@renewalcc.org). One of our deacons or deaconesses will schedule a time to meet with you.

  • We look to offer the compassion and love of Christ as we meet and pray with you.
  • We will walk with you through a process that our Diaconate team has made to see how we can best help you.
  • We serve alongside the community of members of Renewal and our leadership team of pastors, elders, and women’s council.
