Children's Ministry

Parents are the primary Christian nurturers of their children, and our children's ministry exists to walk alongside parents in helping teach their children to understand and experience the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is our joy to “let the children come to [Jesus]” (Luke 18:16).

At Renewal Presbyterian Church Center City, we practice covenantal worship—believing the church is the whole people of God, children and adults together, before God to worshipCovenantal worship is rooted in God’s promises in the Bible for all His people young and old. Thus, on Sundays, we invite children of all ages to participate in the worship service with their families for the first half of the service. Children in 5th grade and under are dismissed to age-appropriate classes, while youth in 6th grade and up remain for the full service.

Children ages 2 through 5th grade participate in a Christ-centered curriculum that includes Bible lessons, worship songs, and activities. Lesson passages and main points are shared with families to encourage continued conversation at home. Nursery care is available for children 6 months - 23 months.

Coffee Hour

Everyone is invited to arrive an hour early at 9:30am to enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee outside the gym at the Crane Center. This informal time is designed to create a comfortable, welcoming space to connect, meet new people, and build friendships beyond Community Groups. You’re encouraged—but not required—to bring your own thermos to help reduce paper cup use.

We're Excited To Meet You!

We can’t wait to welcome you and help you feel at home at Renewal. If you have any questions before you visit, please contact us — we’d love to hear from you!

We gather for worship every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Crane Chinatown Community Center (1001 Vine St, 2nd floor).

The closest station is the 11th St. Station on the Market-Frankford (Blue) Line. From the 11th St. Station, walk north to Vine St and east to 10th St. (It is about a 10 minute walk from the station to Crane Chinatown.)

There is a parking lot available to you on Sundays free of charge, located on 10th St & Ridge St. (Please enter on 10th Street) This lot closes at 3pm. You will need to place a parking placard on your dashboard. There will be a welcoming team member in the lot passing out these parking placards, or you can pick one up from the welcoming table inside the building before you park.

There is also street parking available all around the Crane Chinatown building. (Please check parking signs!)

Our service is about 90 minutes long. The style is fairly liturgical, and we seek an atmosphere of reverent joy. During the service, we sing, pray, profess our faith, confess our sins, hear a sermon based on the Bible, and enjoy the sacraments together.

We sing a mix of old hymns and contemporary worship songs from a variety of sources such as Getty Music, Passion, CityAlight, and others. You can listen to a playlist from our Sunday worship here.

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper once a month.

You’ll see a range of attire—from jeans to ties and dresses. Most people are somewhere in between, so come as you are.
